Almirante Irizar in the Weddell Sea

This postcard of the Almirante Irizar working its way through the ice in Antarctica's Weddell Sea is covered on the address side with autographs and cachets.

It was posted on Oct. 26, 2006 aboard the Argentina Antarctic Sector supply ship and is franked with the 75 centavo multicolored stamp (Scott #2271) depicting a helicopter approaching Orcadas Base. The stamp was issued on Feb. 21, 2004 to commemorate the base's centenary.
