Children's drawings were featured on Great Britain's 1966 Christmas issue (Scott #478-479), released for public use on December 1.The multicolored stamps included a drawing of a king on the 3 pence value, and a snowman on the 1 shilling 6 pence value. Both of the stamps identified the country of origin with a gold-impressed silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II.
(Great Britain, by the way, is the only country that does not imprint the country name on its postal issues.)
The stamps were printed using the photogravure process by Harrison and Sons, Ltd., of London.
